Flu and MMR Campaign

To: All Providers

From: Gina Febbraro, MPH, Director of Strategy and Performance, Prevention Services Division

Dear Colleagues,

You know the importance of vaccines, especially right now, and you’ve heard that Coloradans may be having difficulty staying on top of their immunizations during this challenging period.

This issue is especially important as we enter flu season but our state also can’t afford to lose ground on routine childhood vaccines like MMR.

That’s why the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has launched a public awareness campaign to promote the importance of the flu and MMR vaccines. But we can’t tackle this major education challenge on our own.

We’re looking to important partners like you to get the word out, and we’ve created a toolkit of easy-to-use materials to help you communicate with your audiences.

  • Flyers in English and Spanish that can be printed out at a home or office and even co-branded if you want to add your organization’s logo next to CDPHE.
  • Key messages you can use for e-newsletters or other communications with your communities.
  • Social media posts, in English and Spanish, and graphics you can use on your organization’s social accounts.

Over time, we’ll add additional materials as they become available.

We also created websites that provide consumer-friendly info on the vaccines in English and Spanish.

MMR:

If we all share this important information through our networks, we can increase vaccination rates, protect Coloradans’ health, and reduce the burden on our state’s health care system of what some are calling a potential “twindemic” of flu and COVID-19.

For more information on this effort, please contact Gina Febbraro at gina.febbraro@state.co.us.

Thank you for working with us to protect the health of all Coloradans.
