TO: Hospitals, End Stage Renal Disease facilities, Ambulatory Surgery From: Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)   The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is recruiting a new member for the Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory (HAI) Committee. Currently, the committee is requesting applicants for the position of infection control practitioner from a healthcare setting in Colorado. All interested and qualified individuals with infection prevention experience should apply. We particularly encourage applications from infection control practitioners from special settings that may not otherwise be represented on the committee, including hemodialysis centers. This position will be appointed by the Executive Director of CDPHE for a term of three years.   The HAI Advisory Committee is established under Colorado Revised Statute (C.R.S.) 25-3-602 to provide oversight to CDPHE for the collection and public reporting of data on HAI infection rates from health facilities. The committee may also advise CDPHE on other HAI-related activities. The committee typically meets eight to ten times each year on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 to 4 p.m. at CDPHE in Denver, and all meetings are open for public attendance and comment. Meetings are being held using telephone and video conferencing. There are 11 members who represent a variety of stakeholders. Membership is voluntary and qualifications are outlined in the statute.   The infection preventionist representative must be employed by, or affiliated with a healthcare facility in Colorado. This person will represent infection preventionists and healthcare facilities statewide at HAI Advisory Committee meetings.   CDPHE invites qualified persons to complete and submit the fillable application with a resume or curriculum vitae by email to lynda.saignaphone@state.co.us. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 30, 2022.
