To:
Residential care facilities (skilled nursing facilities, assisted living residences, group homes, intermediate care facilities)
The residential care strike team has developed a resource packet for facilities who may experience staffing shortages. The resources include four (4) documents:
- Managing Staffing Shortages Caused by COVID-19: This resource document provides best practice recommendations and ideas for how to manage staffing shortages within your organization.
- Connect To Care Jobs Site: This flyer provides information about the site, which matches residential care settings with job seekers, and about how to get registered.
- HWL COVID-19 Rapid Response: This flyer offers a new resource to residential care settings to fill immediate staffing needs through a rapid response staffing program which draws from furloughed or unemployed hospital workers, as well as other job seekers. The State of Colorado does not endorse this program, but offers it as a resource for those who are interested in reaching out and learning more.
- Employee Wellness and Supporting Your Staff: These flyers, created by the CO Dementia Partnership, are resources for your staff to ensure that they are taking care of themselves, while they care for the residents. Staff turnover can significantly contribute to shortages, as well as burnout, so investing in your current staff to maximize retention can be beneficial.
The documents are located
