Updates to CDPHE and CDC Guidance Documents Related to COVID-19 Response

TO: LTC Administrators FROM: CDPHE Long-term care facilities (LTCFs) should be aware of the following updates to CDPHE and CDC guidance documents related to the COVID-19 response. Updated Colorado testing criteria, found here: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/covid-19-testing. It is not necessary to wait for other viral testing results, such as influenza or RSV, prior to testing for COVID-19, but if other respiratory viruses might be suspected testing can be done concurrently. Follow your usual protocols for influenza and RSV testing. Make sure you follow CDC guidance for personal protective equipment (PPE). CDC has also updated guidance for infection control in healthcare facilities, found here https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/infection-control/control-recommendations.html.
