Labor and Childbirth Rule Language Feedback Deadline for Comment—January 17, 2025

 

To: Hospitals, Birth Centers, Community Clinics, Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs), and all those interested in SB21-193 and HB24-1459 From: HFEMSD Last week, the Department communicated that it is seeking written feedback regarding proposed revisions to draft rule language to implement statutory standards in Section 25-3-126, C.R.S. that require certain health facilities to have policies in place to protect pregnant people’s rights in the perinatal period.  As mentioned in that message, at this time the Department will be accepting feedback and comments regarding these drafts only in written format, either through the labor and childbirth rule language feedback form or by email.  Please submit all written comments, either by form or email, by 5:00 p.m., January 17, 2025. To review the Department’s proposed rule language, please select the respective rule chapter: 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4 - General Hospitals (including critical access hospitals) 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 9 - Community Clinics and Community Clinics and Emergency Centers (includes only those with emergency centers) 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 13 - Freestanding Emergency Departments 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 22 - Birth Centers The Department welcomes any and all feedback regarding the proposed rule language. The labor and childbirth rule language feedback form requires that responses br typed into the question fields. At this point, the Department expects any remaining stakeholdering of these proposed rules will be through written comment only. However, stakeholders will be notified in the event that the Department determines it is necessary to reconvene the Labor and Childbirth Policy Stakeholder Group for future meetings. Please note that if you signed up as part of the previous stakeholder process, you do not need to sign up again. Stakeholders will also be notified regarding the Board of Health process when the Department determines, based on stakeholder feedback, that it is ready to go forward with a request for rulemaking.
