ALR QMAP Statute Change Affecting Historical Education

.On June 6, 2024, Governor Polis signed Senate Bill 24-167 to make certain training and testing portable in assisted living residences. That bill also added a definition of qualified medication administration personnel (QMAP) to the assisted living statutes at Section 25-27-102(10.5), C.R.S., which overrides regulation found in 6 CCR 1011-1 Chapter 7 recognizing QMAPs who passed a competency evaluation administered by the department before July 1, 2017.

The department will be exercising enforcement discretion and will not take enforcement action for QMAPs who passed a competency evaluation administered by the Department before July 1, 2017, while a legislative fix is pursued in 2025. All QMAPs recognized before and after July 1, 2017, are listed on this public database. All QMAPs identified on the list will continue to be recognized until further information is provided by the department.
