To: All facilities
From: Dr. Eric France Chief Medical Officer Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
Dear stakeholder,
I wanted you to be among the first to know that we have officially hired Elaine McManis as the permanent director of the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division.
CDPHE’s Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division has a big, important job — it ensures the certification and licensure of nearly 3,500 health facilities and 19,000 emergency medical service providers in Colorado. As a result, finding the right director was exceptionally important. Elaine has been serving as interim director since January, and she has done exceptional work in a challenging position during a challenging time in CDPHE’s history.
Elaine has more than 20 years of experience within the division, dating back to her time as a compliance inspector in 2000. She has a unique understanding of the division’s work and I’m confident she is the right director to help the division accomplish even greater things for the people of Colorado.
I am excited to see what Elaine and her talented team at the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division can accomplish moving forward. I know Elaine is excited to meet with stakeholders like you to discuss the important issues facing the division and CDPHE.
Thank you for your interest in these issues and for your important support and insight during this unique moment in Colorado’s history.
Sincerely,
Dr. Eric France, CDPHE Chief Medical Officer
