CDC, CMS issue guidance updates, stay tuned for further CDPHE guidance

To: Residential care facilities (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, and intermediate care facilities)

From: The infection prevention team and residential care strike team

On Friday, September 10, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their infection prevention guidance related to COVID-19 for residential care and other settings. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) also updated their testing requirements. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is currently reviewing the updated changes to determine how they may impact the current CDPHE Residential Care Facility Mitigation Guidance and Public Health Order 20-20. The Department will update residential care facilities as we work through this process. During this period of transition, please continue to follow the current mitigation guidance.
