New NHSN Groups effective 8/2/2018. This is an abbreviated communication, please review the communication sent to your facility NHSN Facility Administrator

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is reviewing the process for reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) via The National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). To ensure that facilities are reporting only those conditions as required by the Colorado Revised Statutes and determined by the Colorado HAI Advisory Committee, we are making some modifications to the group function in NHSN.

New Process:

After consultation with NHSN staff members and careful consideration, we have determined that it is in the best interest of all healthcare partners for CDPHE to create new groups within NHSN for each specific facility type. This will enable CDPHE to create one confer rights template for each facility type so that facilities can easily understand the information that is being shared with CDPHE. CDPHE has created these new groups. 

Please consult the individualized communication that has been sent to the NHSN Facility Administrator at your facility. 

The individualized communication will include the new Group Name and password. Please review the information in NHSN prior to contacting CDPHE.
