License Renewal Application Issues And Resolution

Dear provider,

Beginning in September CDHPE's back end systems experienced difficulty in creating renewal application documents and notices for some facility types. While some errors resolved themselves there have been continuous issues for the following provider types:

Nursing Care Facilities
Home Care Agencies
Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
Convalescent Centers

This impacted facilities with license expiration dates starting in late December 2017 and continuing from that date.

CDPHE staff is beginning the process of manually creating license renewal documentation for these facilities. Once this process is complete over the next week your application will become available. Going forward staff will continue to monitor expiring licenses and manually create renewal documents as needed in the traditional 90-120 day window prior to the expiration date.

Please note that in some cases you may see previously submitted applications from prior years in your Portal account. Once your 2017-2018 or 2018-2019 renewal application is created the application ID will be a number over 30000. Numbers below this are from prior year applications that should not be used. We cannot accept re-submitted applications from prior years so please wait until your new application becomes available before attempting to complete and submit it.

Chapter II specifies certain deadlines for submitting your license renewal application. Penalties for failing to submit an application 60 or 30 days prior to its expiration date will not be enforced. The department still expects that the application and fees will be submitted prior to the license's expiration date. If your facility feels that it will be unable to meet that deadline please contact the department to discuss the issues involved.
