Clarification - The draft survey criteria released last week for comment, input and discussion. The division developed this document as a starting point to provide surveyor guidance at the request of the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (CASCA) and has not been endorsed by CASCA or authorized by CDPHE at this time.
The department has received feedback from some providers requesting further breakdown for minimum recovery time for the various levels of anesthesia and sedation used. We will incorporate these changes and others following the June 20, 2017 meeting. Opportunities for comment, input and discussion remain open. All interested parties are encouraged to participate in the meeting on June 20, 2017. The department's goal is to develop guidelines that continue to support the industry as well as ensuring the continued patient safety record of this facility type.
