House Bill 16-1424 changed portions of the statute that pertain to the administration of medications in facilities that are allowed to use qualified medication administration personnel (QMAPs). The Division is amending its Chapter 24 regulations in order to align with the statutory changes. A task force of stakeholders has been working with division representatives since August 2016 to achieve consensus on proposed amendments to Chapter 24.
The Board of Health has scheduled a public hearing for April 19, 2017 regarding adoption of the proposed changes. Details regarding that public hearing may be viewed at: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/draft-regulations
