Proposed Changes to ASC and CC Rules – Request for Comment

The Division is proposing revisions to 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapters 20 and 11. Specifically, the Division is proposing to repeal Chapter 11 concerning Convalescent Centers and incorporating new standards concerning CCs into Chapter 20, Ambulatory Surgical Centers. The Division has worked with CASCA and other stakeholders to develop these changes which will allow providers to license themselves as either an ambulatory surgical center or an ambulatory surgical center with a convalescent center. The Division has also made changes to the ASC standards to accommodate ASCs that only perform diagnostic procedures or provide only mild sedation. Lastly, we have reorganized and updated certain parts of Chapter 20.

A public hearing before the Board of Health regarding adoption of the proposed changes is scheduled for December 17, 2014 in the Sabin-Cleere room at the Department's main campus. Please review the proposed changes and provide your written comments by Thursday, November 20, 2014 to Laurie Schoder at laurie.schoder@state.co.us
