Nov 21, 2023 Labor and Childbirth Policy Stakeholder Meeting, impacting 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4 - General Hospitals, and Chapter 22 - Birth Centers

 

To: All Stakeholders interested in the implementation of Senate Bill 21-193, concerning the protection of a pregnant person’s rights during the perinatal period, as it relates to 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4 - General Hospitals, and Chapter 22 - Birth Centers From: HFEMSD You are invited to participate in the stakeholder process to develop regulatory language to implement the requirements in Senate Bill 21-193, concerning the protection of a pregnant person’s rights during the perinatal period, and specifically Section 8 of that bill, which requires health facilities that provide services related to labor and childbirth to have certain policies consistent with Section 25-3-126, C.R.S. The proposed rules developed during this time will then be incorporated into other rulemakings updating 6 CCR 1011-1 Chapter 4 – General Hospitals, and Chapter 22 – Birth Centers.    Stakeholder meetings are being held on the third Tuesday of each month,  through January 2024. All stakeholder meetings are open to the public, and all interested parties are welcome to attend and provide input. Additionally, all stakeholders, regardless of whether they are able to attend the meetings, may provide input throughout the stakeholder process and are always welcome to submit written comments to the Department. The second stakeholder meeting will be held on November 21, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. This meeting will be held virtually only to accommodate for holiday travel and alternate work locations and to help ensure equal access for participation, regardless of geographic location of the attendee.
