Elective Surgery Hospital Bed Count - EMResources

Hello everyone. Hope this finds you well.

As a result of the Public Health Order 20-29, hospitals may conduct voluntary and elective surgeries and procedures in facilities in accordance with several criteria, including the percentage of bed capacity. To accurately determine and monitor these bed capacity rates, CDPHE will be adding two new fields
in EMResource (https://emresource.juvare.com/EMSystemon Wednesday, December 16, 2020, for hospital reporting requirements.

  • Field Name: Acute Care Inpatient Beds in Use
  • Definition: Total number of staffed acute care inpatient beds that are occupied at the time of data collection. Acute care beds are all medical/surgical beds and specialty beds, including intensive-care beds.
  • Field Name: Maximum Acute Care Beds
  • Definition: Static field of data submitted to CDPHE for public order 20-29 of current max med/surge beds and current max of ICU beds.

There is no action required by hospitals to input the maximum acute care beds data. The data will be input directly by CDPHE from the information that was provided by hospitals that accompanied the PHO 20-29. That original document request and CDPHE contact information can be located at Colorado Hospital Data Collection Form
