TO: Acute Care Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, Long-term Acute Care Hospitals The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is presenting a Clinical Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) Call on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 entitled: Ebola: Clinical Presentation, Evaluation, and Infection Prevention. Intended audience: physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, health educators, and other clinicians at frontline hospitals and emergency care areas. During this COCA Call, subject matter experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will discuss the signs and symptoms of Ebola, disease progression, the importance of alternative diagnoses or treatments, and the utility of a CDC clinical consult. Presenters will also review specimen handling and testing biosafety, and infection prevention and control recommendations. The call is scheduled for 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET (12:00 PM - 1 PM MT) on Tuesday December 20, 2022. Call details are listed on the COCA Call web page. The Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance Program at CDPHE is disseminating this as a resource to frontline hospitals to inform Ebola response plans. CDPHE is currently conducting symptom monitoring for people who come to Colorado after spending time in Uganda, where there is an outbreak of Ebola. All travelers have been low risk.
