Surveyor vaccination status and infection control measures

 

To: All certified and licensed facilities   From: Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division   Omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to spread across Colorado. The Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division understands the risk that surveyors could pose while performing vitally important health care facility inspections. To minimize the risk, HFEMSD requires surveyors to take the following steps: Be fully vaccinated. Only surveyors who are fully vaccinated are able to perform on-site investigations at any facility type. Wear full personal protective equipment. While omicron is at high prevalence in our communities, surveyors should wear full personal protective equipment, including N95 masks and eye protection.  Maintain social distancing, whenever possible. Maintain other necessary infection control measures.    The Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division commends the actions taken by health facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
