Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory Committee Openings: A representative from an urban hospital and a representative from a rural hospital.

 

TO: Hospitals in Colorado   FROM: Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE)   The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is recruiting two new members for the Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory (HAI) Committee. Currently, the committee is requesting applicants for the position of a representative from an urban hospital and a representative from a rural hospital. The two positions will be appointed by the Executive Director of CDPHE for a term of three years.   The HAI Advisory Committee is established under Colorado Revised Statute (C.R.S.) 25-3-602 to provide oversight to CDPHE for the collection and public reporting of data on HAI infection rates from health facilities. The committee may also advise CDPHE on other HAI-related activities. The committee typically meets eight to ten times each year on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 2 to 4 p.m. at CDPHE in Denver, and all meetings are open for the public attendance and comment. During the COVID-19 response, meetings are being held using telephone and video conferencing. There are 11 members who represent a variety of stakeholders. Membership is voluntary and qualifications are outlined in statute.   Applicants for representative from an urban hospital must be employed by, or affiliated with, an urban hospital in Colorado. Applicants for representative from a rural hospital must be employed by, or affiliated with, a rural hospital in Colorado. These positions publicly represent urban and rural hospitals statewide.   CDPHE invites qualified persons to complete and submit the application with a resume or curriculum vitae by email to lynda.saignaphone@state.co.us. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 17, 2021.
