Rapid Testing Supply Delivery

 

To: Residential care facilities (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Group Homes, and Intermediate Care Facilities)   From: CDPHE Residential Care Strike Team & Infection Prevention and Control Unit   As of August 3, 2021, all initial shipments of BinaxNOW rapid testing supplies have been sent and should have arrived. If you did not receive your supplies, please reach out to Alexis.Foor@state.co.us immediately. Please note: Rapid testing supplies were only automatically sent to facilities that reported one or more unvaccinated staff in EMResource. If your facility has reported 100% staff vaccination rates, but still needs point of care rapid testing supplies (such as to test unvaccinated residents) please fill out this form.    All BinaxNOW expiration dates have been extended through the end of November. More information about this extension is available here. Please continue to use any tests with a May 2021 expiration date.   Facilities with any unvaccinated community members (staff or residents) are required to apply for a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver by August 13, in order to perform rapid tests. If you need assistance with this application, please view CLIA waiver application information on the testing webinar page and attend one of the webinars listed on that website to receive more in-depth information about the application.    Facilities should have everything they need to perform rapid testing by August 13.   Facilities should be testing unvaccinated staff and residents who leave the building for over 24 hours. If your facility is not conducting that testing, begin immediately. If your facility continues to have questions about how to test, you may attend one of the webinars being held this week.
