Enhanced Infection Prevention Testing Webinars
The recent emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus Delta variant in certain parts of Colorado has highlighted that there may be times that warrant additional facility-level mitigation and control measures to ensure resident safety. Such measures may be needed in situations including but not limited to: identification of variants of concern, increased transmission within a particular facility and/or increase in morbidity and mortality during a specific outbreak.
Currently, enhanced infection prevention measures only apply to facilities located in counties where SARS-CoV-2 virus Delta variant is emerging.
As of Tuesday, July 6, 2021 Mesa, Rio Blanco, Delta, Montrose, Garfield, Eagle, Routt, Conejos, Alamosa, Rio Grande, El Paso, and Gunnison counties all must use a CDPHE-contracted lab for all laboratory-based COVID-19 testing and follow enhanced testing procedures. A public list of counties with enhanced infection prevention procedures will be updated here.
Facilities located in the counties listed above are encouraged to attend interactive webinars that will provide detailed information including:
- Overview on the enhanced infection prevention process.
- Review testing requirements and demonstration of rapid testing process
- Walkthrough of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver application and order form process.
- Q&A session.
