Residential Care Strike Team Staffing Transition Plan

 

To: Residential care facilities (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Group Homes, and Intermediate Care Facilities)   From: CDPHE Infection Prevention & Control Unit and Residential Care Strike Team    The Residential Care Strike Team and the Staff Shortage Fusion Center have provided staffing resources in response to the COVID-19 staffing crisis at residential facilities since late November 2020. To date, teams have covered over 5,000 shifts in 80 facilities across the state.   The staffing teams managed by the Strike Team are beginning to phase out and state-funded staffing resources will no longer be available after June 30, 2021.    Staffing shortages in long-term and residential care facilities have long been a challenge, even prior to COVID-19, and the pandemic response has been extremely taxing on health care providers at all levels.
