With the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care (LTC) Program ending, the state is committed to ensuring long-term care facilities have continued access to COVID-19 vaccines for unvaccinated residents and staff. The CDC recently issued guidance for ensuring access to COVID-19 vaccine in long-term care facilities, which requests that facilities contact their pharmacy to see if they are enrolled to provide COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Residential Care Strike Team has provided long-term care facilities information on how to set up ongoing vaccinations through their local pharmacies. This information is available on the CDPHE website and includes a vaccine provider map to help match facilities with pharmacies and specific details for Walgreen’s partners and second dose arrangements. Additionally, Omnicare is offering the following solutions for partners to have continued access to the COVID-19 vaccine:
- A previously announced Ambulatory Model - “preferred” access to CVS retail in-store vaccines offered at select participating locations.
- A Distribution Model – vaccine delivered to facilities through Omnicare’s operational footprint.
