ATTENTION REHABILITATION HOSPITALS: Chapter 4 Hospitals and Chapter 10 Rehabilitation Hospitals Rule Revision - April 1, 2021 meeting information

 

To: Rehabilitation Hospitals From: HFEMSD As part of the Department’s ongoing process to revise our hospital regulations (6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 4 – General Hospitals, Chapter 10 – Rehabilitation Hospitals, Chapter 18 – Psychiatric Hospitals, and Chapter 19 – Hospital Units), the Department and stakeholders are discussing Chapter 10 - Rehabilitation Hospitals at the April 1 meeting and welcome your attendance so that you can provide your valuable input to the group. The Department and stakeholders have been meeting monthly to review the wide range of topics that impact hospitals, both general and specialty, since October 2019. As we are nearing the final months of meeting before we submit the changes to all hospital rule chapters to the Board of Health, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to provide comment specific to the needs of rehabilitation hospitals.   This month's meeting topics include a review of all remaining parts of Ch. 10 - Rehabilitation Hospitals, Ch. 18 - Psychiatric Hospitals, and Ch. 19 - Hospital Units, as well as a review of Psychiatric Services in Ch. 4 - General Hospitals. In addition to reviewing Chapter 10 prior to the meeting, it is also pertinent for the Department to know if rehabilitation hospitals require any exceptions or additions to the required standards for all hospitals contained in Chapter 4. Please send us any written feedback on Chapters 4 and 10 prior to the meeting, or come prepared to share your expertise on April 1.   We highly encourage written comments on these drafts, especially if you are unable to participate in the monthly meeting.
