Resumption of Surveillance Testing Enforcement

To: Residential Care Facilities (Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Group Homes, and Intermediate Care Facilities)

From: HFEMS Residential Care Strike Team

The Residential Care Strike Team would like to thank you again for your patience and cooperation during the transition to MAKO, CSU, and the state lab for COVID-19 surveillance testing. Your understanding and willingness to work with us has allowed the state to resume COVID-19 testing practices with minimal disruption.

We realize the transition happened quickly and there were bumps in the road. However, the vast majority of providers were willing to learn a new system, work with a new lab, and devote the time necessary to do what was right for the residents. Again, we thank you.

As of Feb. 15, 2021, regular surveillance testing guidelines are now back in place. All aspects of Public Health Order 20-20 apply, including a testing plan. Please be aware that surveyors have begun visiting facilities who are not recorded as testing.

These guidelines also apply regardless of vaccine distribution at your facility. If any facilities still need assistance with any portion of the state supplied surveillance testing, please contact residentialcarestriketeam@state.co.us
