Phase 1B Vaccine Letter for IDD and HCBS Providers

To: Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Providers

From: HFEMS Residential Care Strike Team

This message is a reminder that as part of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) three-phase vaccine distribution plan, Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) and Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) providers are both eligible for Phase 1B vaccination.

  • We have received reports of IDD and HCBS providers being rejected or excluded by vaccine providers. In response, we are distributing an informational letter for licensed agencies with employees eligible for vaccination in Phase 1B to provide proof of employment.

CDPHE’s three-phase plan prioritizes vaccine distribution to people at risk of serious complications or death. Phase 1A included the highest risk populations including health care workers who directly work with COVID-19 patients. This phase also included long-term care facility staff including assisted living facilities, group homes, and their residents.

Additional questions can be directed to the Residential Care Strike Team.
