This blog publishes information typically sent to users of the Colorado Health Facilities Interactive (COHFI) system for health care entities regulated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Please note that COHFI is the official medium for business communication between the Department and licensed and/or Medicare/Medicaid certified health care entities. Health care entities should continue to monitor their email accounts routinely.

This Week’s ALR Online Newsletter Updates
Updates for this week on the Assisted Living News & Resources web page include a new "Crosswalk of Previous vs. Current Rules". This document attempts to consolidate these two rule sets into one visualization for comparison of what is the same and what is new in the rules. Longstanding requirements that still apply in the new rule today are simply identified with an underline and new requirements are highlighted in bold. With the reorganization of the entire rule set, many topics from the old rules are now in specific sections and merged with new or additional requirements as applicable.
Additionally, the site provides request/information for applicants to serve as a temporary Assisted Living Advisory Council Workgroup Member as well as further developed FAQsand a new Resources area for relevant documentation.
Lastly, Randy Kuykendall, HFEMS Division Director and Elaine McManis, Home and Community Facilities Branch Chief recently spoke on a local radio show about the new Assisted Living Regulations in Colorado (Audio Link).
It is our hope that this resource will provide you with up-to-date and relevant tools, training, and information, as we move forward with implementing the new regulations under 6CCR 1011-1, Chapter 7 Assisted Living Regulations. Current features of the newsletter include on "What’s New," "Important Dates," "Training," "Blog," "FAQs", "Help" and "Advisory Committee." Our goal is to provide you with a clear understanding of the new portions of the regulation as well as training to help you comply.
