House Bill 12-1294 directed the Department to provide an appropriate credit or
reduced fee to a health facility that achieves state license renewal through
deemed status. The hospice rule already had this discount so it will remain
intact. The Division is proposing a change, however, for the licensing of
hospices that provide both home and inpatient care in order to streamline the
license process, avoid the necessity of two separate licenses, and offer the
deeming discount mandated by statute.
