Recruiting Long Term Care Representative for State Healthcare Associated Infections Advisory Committee


The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is responsible for implementing the Healthcare-Associated Infections Disclosure Law. The law is implemented with the guidance of an 11-member volunteer advisory committee, the Colorado Healthcare- Associated Infections Advisory Committee. Currently, the committee has an opening for a long-term care representative. 

The long-term care representative is a critical committee role. This person will be the voice of long-term care facilities and consumers and participate in committee discussions related to long-term care issues and needs in reducing health care associated infections related to urinary catheters, and pathogens such as clostridium difficile. 

The committee's mission is to provide oversight of Colorado's legally required HAI reporting to ensure accountability and improvement of patient care through education, data validation and review and selection of reporting requirements. The committee typically meets eight to ten times each year on the 4th Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at CDPHE in Denver. 

We invite interested persons with expertise/experience in the long-term care setting to apply for this position. The department hopes to fill the position immediately but will keep applications on file after it has been filled.
